Meet Tammie

Tammie Tubbs is truly an overcomer and an inspiration to many.  She is the mother of Trinity and the late Terrance and Tyler Tubbs. Tammie serves as an ordained minister under the leadership of Supt. Joseph Hawkins of Peter’s Rock Temple Church of God in Christ. An Innovative Television Host, Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Published Author and Certified Teacher, Tammie is empowering lives around the world through her dynamic personality. She serves as the executive producer and host of her own television show, “The Tammie Tubbs Show,” which airs on CTN (Christian Television Network affiliate WEPH TV 49), On Pointe Network, Roku ,Amazon Fire stick, Pam Chatmon Network and Apple TV.

In 2015, Tammie was awarded the Mississippi State University President Commission “Community Woman of the Year” Award.  In 2016, she received the Northeast Mississippi Girls Scouts Heart of the South “Woman of Distinction” Award. In 2018, she was nominated for the GCGMA Best Television Personality Award and was recently named one of  the Most Influential Afro-Americans in the State of Mississippi. Recently, she was awarded the title of Outstanding New Teacher for the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.  In addition, Tammie was instrumental in launching the first Parent Cafe Model in the state of Mississippi through Starkville Oktibbeha School District serving as the first Program Manager for Families Strengthening Families. Because of Tammie’s groundwork, Mississippi became the 13th state in the nation to use Parent Cafe Model to assist families with developing and improving parental skills to live a healthy lifestyle.

Tammie Tubbs is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Parent Advocate for Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Mayor’s Youth Council Volunteer Leader, and Association of Career and Technical Education. July 2018, she published her third book entitled, “I Survived… Death, Depression, Divorce.” She is fulling her God-given purpose as God as favored her to travel the U.S., Italy, Switzerland, Jamaica, Bermuda, Hawaii, and Alaska (just to name a few places) to share her life journey through her first book, “I Still Have Joy,” in memory of her sons who passed away from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the #1 genetic killer for children under the age of two.

A native of Starkville, Mississippi, a 1994 graduate of B.L. Moor High School, 1998 graduate of Mississippi University for Women, and the daughter of Dr. Willie Earl and Carrie Thomas, Tammie has no limits or boundaries when inspiring the community to transform from Good, Better to Best. After returning home to Mississippi after 15 years, Tammie’s mission has been to make a difference within the community and make a mark on society that cannot be erased.

She is currently employed with Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District as a Family and Consumer Science Teacher. Since teaching in 2018, she has been awarded Tireless Teacher of the Month (September 2018) and March 2019 Teacher of the Month. On an ongoing basis, Tammie mentors and teaches others how to realize their passion and uniqueness in life. More importantly, she encourages those she meets on a daily basis to follow their dreams and live a drama-free life with the message for women to be known for the beauty from within which comes from her book entitled, “Woman II Woman: Will the Real You Please Stand Up?” Tammie Tubbs is truly a dynamic woman that readily allows God to use her in her life’s journey to be a blessing to others.

The Author

In “I Still Have Joy”, Tammie T. Tubbs delivers an inspirational message to everyone who feels like giving up, especially those whom the enemy has in bondage who think life is not worth living. She describes how death inspires her to turn misery into ministry. Through disappointment and devastation, she encourages her readers to trust God’s plan for their lives. The plan she presents for parents to follow is to nurture their children the godly way. Tammie shares her life story of how she placed her teaching career on hold to care for her two disabled sons, and a beautiful newborn baby girl. It is a mother’s struggle to balance her family and keep her mind sane. She encourages you to grab hold to the Word of God and know that “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper.” This God-fearing woman boldly states that God is faithful and We Owe Him Praise for all he has allowed us to experience, whether it be good or bad.

Tammie T. Tubbs is one of the most loving and giving women one would ever encounter. When it comes to the needs of others, she puts her needs on hold. Her overall personality is as a go-getter, and she can get the job done but with the humility in her spirit, she would rather remain behind the scenes. She does everything from the heart and allows others to relish in the glory. In 2015, Tammie published her 2nd Book titled, Woman II Woman Will The Real You Please Stand Up? Principles of Learning to Love Yourself.This book was placed in her spirit while going through her ups and downs in life. She felt God, along with others in her life circle, came along and helped her put her struggles into an inspirational book. For others who may be going through the same issues or maybe even more, she encourages you to just press on and don’t quit. Tammie T. Tubbs is a survivor and you can be, too, if you put God first and trust in His Word. “No matter what obstacles you may encounter, view them as only a test of faith and you will find the power to overcome through Jesus Christ.”

The Leader

In November of 2004, Tammie experienced the devastating loss of her 4 year old son..  Two months later (January 2005) her 3 year old son passed away as well from the #1 Genetic Killer for children under the age of 2, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Can you imagine the hurt, pain, and emptiness? Instead of focusing on her pain, Tammie began a small bible study within her local church empowering women and teaching them how to be free from the challenges of life. Tammie is most noted for being authentic and sharing with women that you are not alone in the struggle. She is passionate in sharing with women that God is still restoring, healing, and showing up just like he did in Biblical Times. As a woman Tammie understands you need more than a church service and feel good music.Women need to hear the life experiences of others and how they survived the storms of life. With that in mind, she published,  “I Still Have Joy” an inspiration book in memory of her sons Terrance, Jr. and Aaron.

Not only is she a survivor but an over comer for many. Tammie believes her life is not about her but for others to see there is life after death.

On December 12, 2010, Tammie stepped out in faith and returned home to Mississippi to began The Tammie Tubbs Show formerly Woman II Woman with Tammie Tubbs as the executive producer. As a television personality she connects with her audience and speaks from the heart. The Tammie Tubbs Show airs on WEPH TV 49, an affiliate of Christian Television Network (CTN) on Dish Network channel 49, Comcast Channel 4, Cable One Channel 11 and Maxx South Broadband Channel 20 every Sunday morning 7am and Thursday morning 11:30am. 

She continues to encourage women through workshops, seminars, and conferences. Loved by many, Woman II Woman Empowerment Conference is a life changing experience that consist of powerful praise and worship, shopping (vendors), prayer and personal testimonies. Embracing the call, Tammie continues to empower people through motivational speaking as a Woman II Woman Diva one who is:

Upon learning Mississippi was #1 in teenage pregnancy, Tammie was led to begin Passion 4 Purity Abstinence Classes for girls ages 10-18.  Passion 4 Purity gives honest direction in such areas as how far is too far, physically, putting God’s desires ahead of personal desires emphasizing the love of God and learning to love yourself.

As you can see God can take your mess and make a message, your lemons in life and create sweet lemonade. Woman II Woman, embrace who you are and understand no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. It’s time to celebrate you and pursue your dreams.
